From the
South
• Follow A1 North until the Gateshead Metro Shopping Centre
is visible on the right hand side of the motorway.
• Take the second slip road after the Metro Centre turning
A694.
• The slip road exits under the A1 and ends in a roundabout.
• Go straight ahead at the roundabout, passing the Derwent
Crossing Pub and Hotel on your left. |
• Go straight ahead
at the next roundabout, using the left hand lane.
• Stay in the left hand lane which will take you across
Scotswood Bridge following the signs A695 City Centre West (NOT
A695 Blaydon).
• On the bridge, stay in the right hand lane A695 and exit
to the right, passing the factory of Vickers Defence Systems
on your right hand side.
• Michell Bearings is another ¼ mile (400m) on your
right hand side. |

the North
• Follow A1 South until you reach the slip road for Newburn
A6085 (this is the exit after the A69 exit).
• Follow the slip road to the roundabout and take the second
exit following the signs A695 City Centre West.
• Go straight ahead at the next roundabout, passing the
factory of Vickers Defence Systems on your right hand side.
• Michell Bearings is another ¼ mile (400m) on your
right hand side.

• Follow the signs for A1 South and then progress as above
directions "From the North".
